"Have you lost your mind? Get rid of cable? Did you fall and hit your head? But how could we watch Big Time Rush?? What's going to happen to Good Luck Charlie? Oh dear God no! We're begging you, mom, PLEASE don't get rid of cable!"

While I haven't actually pulled the plug on cable, it IS at the top of my list of things I'm threatening to do if my kids don't start picking up the slack around the house. I'm currently paying almost $64 a month for that addiction box and to be perfectly honest, I'm mostly sure I could do without it. My kids on the other hand may suffer severe withdrawal symptoms and may even need to go to rehab.

Meanwhile, behind closed doors, I have my doubts. My husband keeps insisting that we can watch all the shows we normally watch on HuluPlus, we'll just have to wait a few days to watch. But isn't that kind of like saying "Sure honey, we can have sex tonight, but you can't enjoy it until the weekend, okay?" When Hotch and Morgan are chasing after a serial killer, I wanna know before 10:00 EST Wednesday night how they caught him and if he was able to kill that girl he had before they caught him. I wanna know on Friday night if Andrea says "yes" to the dress or if she gives in to her mom's demands that she show a little less boob and quit liking mermaid dresses. I don't want to wait a few days to find out if Mr. Reese and Carter make it out of the car accident only to be killed by Reese's ex-partner. I want to know on Thursday night, not Saturday.

And I haven't pointed it out yet, but I'm also wondering how my husband will deal with March Madness if he can't watch college basketball games live. He tells me all the time how he doesn't need cable. He can get scores online. But when it comes to college football or college basketball, I think he's full of crap. He's always sitting with the girls watching college basketball games in the hopes that they will learn some moves from the players that they can put to good use in their own burgeoning basketball careers. I don't even know if they have sports on HuluPlus and I truly don't think he's thought it through. I still may cut the cord anyway.

What would you do? Could you give up cable? Have you done it and lived to tell the tale?
